Kootenai River Flow: 17,000 Cubic Feet per second, minimum flow, 6 foot visibility, 39 degrees. Libby Dam outflow is expected to remain here till Sturgeon Flow/runoff augmentation in mid-May. Fisher River and other tributaries in runoff stage, Fisher @ 1300 cfs, Yaak @2700 cfs

Koocanusa Inflow: 19,800 cfs

Hatches: Little Blue Quills, Blue wing Olives, Western March Browns, Charcoal Sedges, Silver Stripe Caddis, Little Olive Stones.

Effective Patterns 

Dry: Parachute Adams #14-20, Purple Haze #16-20, Cubby Chernobyl #10-14, Tan Stimulator #8 and 10, Griffiths Gnat, small Golden and Olive Stones, Standard Adams, Red Quill, Royal Wulff

Nymph and Streamers: Da Bomb, Beadhead Prince, Pheasant Tail, Stones and Midge Pupa, Soft Hackles. Black/Olive Conehead Wooly Buggers.

Fishing Report: Open to guiding under social distancing guidelines!  Moving some nice fish on streamers. Dry fly action subdued due to cooling water releases from Libby Dam. Fisher and Yaak at runoff flows with warming weather. 17,000 is above mid-range flow, wade with caution and wear those wader belts!
