Fishing Report: The dog days of Summer have passed, and so begins the transition into those crisp days of Autumn. Bug activity will start picking up with the cooler temps and over-cast days in our forecast. Right now, we have tons of midges on the surface all throughout the day, and we’re going to see BWO’s come back in full-force any time now. Towards the end of the month, that big ol’ high-calorie trout treat known as the October Caddis (aka Giant Orange Sedge) will be readily available to our river-dwelling cohorts. These BIG BUGS conjure up some bad fish, so prepare yourself for some maniacal takes on top! This is also prime time for you streamer junkies out there. Bigger fish are on the prowl for a hearty meal as Old Man Winter starts to make his stalk.

We have guides available through October, so get yourself on the books and come catch some of these Kootenai River Beauties with us! Also, come in and check out the fly shop for current patterns and all your fly fishing needs (and wants!)
