This season we are offering big game hunting for deer and elk. With an abundance of whitetail deer in the Kootenai National Forest it has many opportunities for rattling during the rut. Archery season form elk is always an exciting time to be in the woods.  We offer one on one guided hunts or one on two guided hunts. The packages include river-front cabin lodging and daily meals at River Bend restaurant. We also offer upland bird hunts for 3 different species of mountain grouse; blue, ruffed and spruce grouse.  We hunt behind Maisy, our German Shorthair Pointer. She pointed and retrieved a double for the first time last season.

Missouri River Cast and Blast

The last several years I’ve been hosting a small group of avid anglers and bird hunters to the east side of Montana for a combination of pheasant hunting and fly fishing on the “Mo”. It has always been a great trip and a great way to unwind after a busy season on the Kootenai. The vastness of the large wheat fields and endless horizon all under the Big Sky has an effect that we don’t get in heavily timbered hillside of the west side.  Pete Cardinal, a longtime friend and fellow outfitter has helped me with these groups. Depending on the weather morning bird hunts can be followed by short but productive floats on the Missouri. The floats can also provide some waterfowl opportunities as well.  We have great fun on these outings. Price varies depending on daily guide fees and lodging choices.  Timing is usually mid-to-late October to mid-November.
